Enver Alas / Estonia, Sep 7 (DHA) ? Turkish Airlines (THY) hit record high with 39,000 passengers in eight months with its flights to Tallinn, capital of Estonia.
The flights to Tallinn among Baltic countries has been launched in 2013 with three flights per day from Istanbul and as the number of flights were increased, the occupancy rates and returns hiked.
According to General Manager of THY Estonia Erkan İnce, this number shows that Turkish Airlines hosts the highest number of passengers to Baltic.
İnce told Dogan News Agency at Lennart Meri Airport that since the beginning of 2015, the occupancy rate hit 72 percent regarding the last two years? numbers.
'Istanbul and Antalya are top destinations'
'The weekly frequency based on three flights via Vilnius has been switched to daily flights, seven days a week, and the number of passengers keep rising. The 40 percent of our sales are operated trough our Estonia office and agencies' said İnce.
'We aim to boost our occupancy rates and yield'
Having highlighted that the first destination of Estonian through THY was Turkey, Erkan İnce told the transit passangers? top five destinations are Tiflis, Tel-Aviv, Baku, Bangkok and Dubai. In Turkey, on the other hand, following the top destination Istanbul, resort province of Antalya is preferred by the passengers.
İnce added that, the attention of Turks to Tallinn has risen in the recent years. 'Tallinn is a compact, boutique touristic city, with easy access and a transition point to Baltic countries. Also, Estonian and Turkish are in the same language group and the country has a deep-rooted culture. Estonians approach towards Turks is highly positive.'

Tallinn is known with its history dating back to Medieval Age and ancient site within UNESCO World Heritage list.
'Our target is to boost our occupancy rates and yield, and reach to higher levels as Turkish Airlines' said İnce, having added that they have boosted p&r works.
The telecommunications software product that specializes in providing video chat and voice calls from computers, Skype, has been introduced on these territories as well. The country is stepping up with its educated population. The Istanbul - Tallinn round trip coasts from 190 euros.
