A six-year-old boy, whose dead body was found buried in the garden of his relative's home in the eastern province of Iğdır, was killed for allegedly witnessing a love affair.

A six-year-old boy, whose dead body was found buried in the garden of his relative's home in the eastern province of Iğdır, was killed for allegedly witnessing a love affair.

The body of Enes Tosun, who had been missing since June 29, was found on July 4 by homicide detectives with the help of trained detection dogs.

The female relative of the victim, identified only as G.T., is the key suspect in the case as she was captured by police trying to escape her home when the boy's body was found buried in her garden.

G.T., who is married to the boy's uncle, reportedly told the prosecutor that he entered her home while she was in bed with a relative of her husband.

She said the man, identified by the initials M.T., then choked the boy to prevent him from speaking about the affair to his family and told her to "deal with the body," after which she put the body into a sack and buried it in the garden.

In her first testimony to the police, G.T. had said the boy fell and hit his head on the floor and died.

M.T. was immediately arrested by a local court after G.T.'s second testimony. G.T. and her husband have also been arrested.

Enes Tosun first went missing when he was playing in front of his house in the Güllüce village of Iğdır province on June 29.

After a search across the city failed to find the boy, homicide detectives brought in trained detection dogs and started to search all houses and gardens in the neighborhood. The dogs found the boy's body buried in the garden of a relative's house near the victim's house. As the search was ongoing, G.T. fled from the scene and attempted to leave the village on foot before being captured by police. She then reportedly aided the search for Tosun and even comforted his family.

Village headman Tuncer Yaman said they had never suspected the woman, describing her as a "smart woman" who was "the mother of three children."
