In Aegean province of İzmir, a mosque has been closed to visits of Syrian migrants, in Basmane district known as waiting and sheltering point for migrants seeking to cross into Europen countries.

To protest the implementation, eleven different NGOs made a press statement in front of the clamped mosque door, and defended that the migrants of Syrian origin, who have to sleep on the streets, should be taken care of.

President of the Bridge of Peoples Association Cem Terzi made the statement and slammed the state officials of keeping ignoring this human tradegy, despite the association's warnings.

"Only today, the Çorakkapı Mosques has been closed its doors. Official attempt to close their doors to migrans of İzmir, against the international agreements. They keep sending hundreds of migrants to camps that migrants call an "open-air prison" by force" said Terzi.

Terzi added that his association had made a health control with a team of 20 people consisting of medicines and translators, declaring refugees urgently needed hygiene and food aid and otherwise, the city could face epidemics.

According to the associations, Syrian migrants suffer on streets due to overpriced hotel rooms and food. Babies try to survive without breast milk and formula.

"Why are the mosque, even the İzmir fair have closed its doors to these people? Where are the mobile health care service, the free medication support that officials have promised before?" said protesters, asking what would happen to İzmir's people for instance in a case of quake.

The group left the street after their press statement, leaving behind children drifted off because of hunger and poor health, sleeping on cardboards that İzmir's people have left on sidewalks.
