Turkey's former President Abdullah Gül congratulated the Justice and Development Party (AKP) for the unofficial snap election results, urging the party to carry the country a step forward, through an inclusive and conciliating language, in its new term.
Having released a statement via his Twitter account, the 11th President of Turkey said he believed the results are a significant opportunity to found peace and stability.
"I wish reform and development processes would be commenced by the new term of AKP, in a bid to to carry the country a step forward, with an inclusive and conciliating language" stressed Abdullah Gül.
Along with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Abdullah Gül is a founding member of the AKP, who has a significant support within the party.
AKP had won 49.4% of the votes, regaining the parliamentary majority it has lost on June 7 elections.
