Foreigner Youth Campers Collect Garbage İn Front Of Picknickers, Call On The World To Recycle

A youth camp organized by the Outdoors Sports Club in western province of Edirne (EDOKS), foreigner university students visiting Turkey from eight different countries including Germany and France collected garbage within a voluntary work, at the city forest near Maritsa riverfront.
The camp having visited Edirne under a cycling tour decided to launch a garbage cleaning operation in a forest, after having seen the environmental pollution near the Maritsa River. In front of picnickers, the group collected the wasters with large rubbish bags.
The youth group included twelve campers from Belgium, Spain, Croatia, Germany, France, Spain, Serbia, along with EDOKS camp leader Ümit Sönmez, having gathered under the 3rd international events (between August 10-24) of the Outdoors Sports Club in the province.
One of the volunteers, Tom Kopens coming from Belgium said, "We want to give people the message to avoid leaving the garbage that they produce and abandon to the nature, and learn how to recycle those wastes".
Ümit Sönmez added the volunteer work aimed at raising and awareness within the country but also in the world with a 15-day-long cleaning operation, while deliberately having collected the garbage in a public place where people could watch and take the message.
